Food Extremist?

I cannot help myself… there are extremist everywhere that just give so much hypocrisy to post about.

I really do not understand why people like to fight, and I can appreciate a good fight- a mature fight with mature conversation, debate, and mutual respect- and because I am about fact, not opinion, I will 100% concede and share when I find facts that support change or the opinions of others because there are many ways to get health and fit- not just one way of eating.

What extremist am I talking about?

Food extremist! Plant based people or meat based people who fight that their way of eating meaning plant or meat is the only way to live a healthy and fit lifestyle.

And they want to shove their beliefs down the throat of others in a bee kinda way, not the honey kinda way.

Here is the thing about me! I can respect passion and beliefs ALL DAY LONG!

I lose respect for hypocrisy.

I being the person I am, reached out to friend- a plant based die hard FB acquaintance and asked him if he has watched “what the health” as it had a lot of support for his plant based enthusiasm and way of life. He responded with a long time ago and he knows that plant based is the best way. There was no appreciation for my reaching out and giving him a tip of a hat- sadly there was only ego.

There might be evidence to support that fact plant based is better depending on where you get your meat from because it is not the meat itself- it is what the cows are fed, given, and even in the grasses they eat that contaminate and create meat we really should not be ingesting.

Like, Alex Pilson and I already eat organic fruits and veggies, organic and pasture raised meats and eggs. And we may still be getting some chemicals and other things we would not want in our bodies so we are researching heavily right now because we want the very best. We are already in great health and fitness- with all that is happening in this world we want to continue to improve our health and fitness to build the strongest immune system possible and will not ingest substances that would hinder that.

You cannot knock and spew hate towards meat eaters and then post a recipe that is plant based covered in pepper jack cheese. If you say it is vegan cheese that is one thing and I would like to see the ingredient on those anyways… gluten free does not mean healthy, vegan does not mean healthy.

Because if you watched that documentary and you believe plant based is the best than you are very much aware that dairy especially cheese is one of the worst things to put in the human body. Worse than meat!!

I don’t know, maybe it is just me and I believe you practice what you preach or stop preaching.

There are very healthy meat eaters- I am one of them. Alex is one of them. We know lots of them. There are many healthy plant based eaters that are strictly plant based and would not be caught dead eating cheese.

Just as there are unhealthy meat eaters and unhealthy plant based eaters because they do not know how to properly nourish the body.

There are certain foods that have carcinogens, cancer causing, that you should never eat like hotdogs, bacon, processed meats (deli meats), and more!

Most people are in poor health and fitness from over eating not just poor food choices, eating high “bad fat” foods, and not properly exercising.

I know that at times my post may come off a little “preachy” or maybe “lecture like” themselves and I think the love can always be felt. My passion of care I would hope shines through… I post facts, stats, and ways to help improve those.

I post the good, the bad, and the ugly. I don’t pretend to be perfect and never eat something I should not or I consider bad for me.

I am imperfectly perfect! Progress over perfection because perfection does not exist.

I will tell you and I already have “what the health” shook me to my core. Although, I already was privy to the information, sometimes until we see it it does not hit hard enough. And to see how irresponsible the American Diabetes Association is, the American Cancer Society is, the FDA is , the USDA is, Pharmaceutical companies are, and even the government is when it comes to our health and well being- well- I am truly saddened and disgusted.

I am so glad that I am learning based with an open mind because it allows me to keep expanding my knowledge and adjusting what I feel I need to adjust for my well being.

I will, of course, continue to share my journey, expertise, and updated knowledge as I uncover it so you can make the best decisions for your well being.

Here is where I am- in heavy thought and decision in my head right now for what is best for me. Alex will have to make his own decision as we are two separate people and I do not make decisions for others- I simply guide and teach- they choose what they feel is best for them. I have practiced 85% clean 15% whatever and funny thing is the 15% recently has really caused havoc for both Alex and I when we really started working on improving our gut health. When you clean out your gut you realize the impact foods not good for you have- your body reacts poorly.

Ironically, A doctor in the documentary said “we think we can eat certain foods in moderation and be healthy- it not have negative impact on us- there is no such thing as moderation with certain foods”.

That hit me deep!

I have since refrained from processed sugar and am having significant sugar withdrawals.

Why processed sugar?

Because I know it is poison. I have blogged about sugar many many times.

I have made the decision to give up all block cheeses because it battles a healthy gut. It is horrible for you! If I want to maintain a healthy gut and the best health and fitness possible block cheese has to go. And I love cheese! Likely it will even mean my Mexican cheese dip will have to go. That is harder than sugar for me!!

Alex and I do not eat a ton of meat and I will be working on some plant based recipes that are just as satisfying, just as protein rich, just as tasty- that do the gut good and help build better immune systems.

At the same time I am working on finding small farmers that raise organic pasture raised meats that are not surrounded by mass production farms so the meat I eat is not eating things I do not want to eat thus bypassing it to me. And I want non processed meat delivered. Not meat injected with salt etc to give it store life.

I focus on what I control, not what I cannot.

What can I control?

  1. What I put in my body and the research behind the choices I make.
  2. Showing up to my workouts.
  3. Sharing my knowledge and expertise with others to help guide them in their choices when it comes to health and fitness.

Guess what?

You control those very same things for yourself! Isn’t it about time you took back ownership of them?
