“That Sugar Film” on Netflix is very entertaining and informative.
What I love most about this documentary, is that it punches so many holes in what “we the people” and people globally have been told is truth about calories and sugar.
Remember in my post the other day where I mentioned that when the sugar industry years and years ago hired and paid scientist to study the effects of sugar on the body? That when the “Definitive Study” was reflecting that sugar is horrible for the body that study was stopped and buried until recently discovered by a investigative reporter. When that study was buried, they hired scientist to put a different spin on it and that spin was used to sell sugar as part of a healthy diet. Millions upon millions of dollars spent to lobby and millions and millions of dollars donated to politicians and political parties led to approved advertising. The FDA pyramids and guidelines for all foods are based on a certain number of calories each day and how many of those calories should come from protein, carbs, grains, dairy, etc. As a result, all of our food labels now communicate what is in the food, what percentage towards the recommended calories per day a serving provides and mostly a full list of ingredients.
Good rule of thumb- the longer the list of ingredients the more processed and less good for you it is. Commensense Consumption Act of 2009 says “we the people” are responsible for knowing what we are eating and drinking and that the industry’s who provide food, the corporations who make food and beverages, etc are not responsible for what we eat, how much of it we eat, and for any health problems that occur as a result.
When our government or any government creates protection for entities and corporations to protect them from any harm that comes as a result of us “we the people” eating and drinking their products and having health issues as a result of eating and drinking their products is that not basically saying- look we know we have sold you out and have polluted your food chain with substances that will harm you all for the sake of a buck- millions and billions of bucks to be more exact- so we are giving you warning that it is your responsible to read labels and not eat that which is not good for you.
This manipulation in advertising is just that manipulation.
After the sugar industry buried their own Definitive Study they remarked that a calorie is a calorie is a calorie and as long as you eat sugar based on the FDA recommended guidelines of calories and FDA recommended guidelines for sugar, sugar is not bad for you and can very much be part of a healthy diet.
Here is the deal!
1) A calorie is a calorie is a calorie is bullshit.
2) Processed sugar being part of a healthy diet is really bullshit.
I have personally been 100% clean from processed sugar and not only do a feel a huge difference in my body- I see a huge difference in my body.
I am healthy and fit- very low body fat and high muscle percentage- processed sugar makes a huge impact on my body for the negative. It determines if you see my 6 pack and ab cuts or not.
3) Processed sugar which is found in 80%- 80% people- of foods in the grocery stores today is highly addictive and creates highs and lows in mood. It is more addictive than cocaine.
So truth is for most people who consume processed sugar they do not understand what it is doing in their body- they really are not aware that they are having highs and lows- they just know they feel good when they drink that coke or eat that sweet or eat pasta. They have no idea that they are increasing their calories to stay in a high- increasing processed sugar consumption to stay away from the low.
The more we eat the more money these entities and corporations make- the more money they have to lobby and donate to keep their message alive, their agenda afloat, and the epidemic of poor health and fitness in growth.
The only sugar we should be consuming is those sugars that are found naturally in organic whole foods we should be eating such as fruit, potatoes, beans, and even unfiltered raw honey. It processes 100% different in the body than processed sugar and these foods have other benefits like fiber that work to heal the body, satisfy hunger, and fills you up. Processed sugar makes you hungrier.
In fact, the only sugar that is good for the body is the sugar found naturally in whole foods- period. I always like to add organic because we do not want to ingest pesticides etc.
Fruit is a nutritional must- not a stay away from.
How did “That Sugar Film” on Netflix poke holes in the FDA guidelines and worldwide guidelines for sugar?
The subject consumed the same amount of calories he consumed in his normal day to day whole foods nutrition plan that included lean meats. He also kept with the same amount of exercise so that the only change was what he consumed.
The subject is Australian and the nutrition plan he adjusted to for this experiment and documentary was simply to consume the amount of processed sugar Australia says is part of a healthy and fit diet that is also what FDA says is part of a healthy and fit diet. Not more and not less so he was not gorging on processed sugar like the addiction that processed sugar causes so many to do and when I say gorging on processed sugar I mean overeating breads, pastas, processed foods that contain “added sugars”.
He had a full medical team watching him and testing him along the journey.
The outcome should be very eye opening and alarming!
The pic is his before (at the start) and after 2 months of eating like the normal person eats today that sticks to the daily recommended calories- not overeating. Again, this movie is very much worth the watch.
22 lbs gained in just 2 months.
Waist expanded 4 inches in just 2 months.
