Break- fast

How do you start your day?

Breakfast is ones break in fast (breakfast) because unless we have a rare disorder where we eat when we sleep or ambien eat we should be experiencing at least an 8 hour fast from food and beverage other than water or black coffee.

The GUT needs an 8 to 10 hour fast every 24 hours as part of GUT health. You will never hear me say you have to force yourself to eat when you get up. What you will hear me say is what 8 to 10 hours are you going to give your body a break from eating and clearly most of those hours will be sleeping hours when your body is recovering. Sleep is an important part of a healthy and fit lifestyle.

I believe in listening to the body. There are some days I consume far more calories than others because my body is telling me I need them. There are days I am hungry when I wake and other days where I am up an hour or two before I am hungry.

To listen to the body you need to get in tune with your body, your health, and your fitness.

We have a real epidemic in this country of poor health and fitness with 72% of the population obese (obesity is near 50% of the population), overweight/ over fat, and skinny fat individuals. Many mistake thirst for hunger. So part of being in tune with your body, your health, and your fitness is being well hydrated. There are many benefits to drinking 8 ounces of water when you think you are hungry and waiting 20 minutes to see if you are still hungry. First benefit if you may not have been hungry at all. Second benefit is you will consume less if you were hungry.

There are all kind of mixed messages about breakfast. Somewhere along the line breakfast was made into a morning meal and then foods were advertised to be breakfast foods such as eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, biscuits, gravy, cereal, etc. That is all advertising and marketing to promote foods for sake of profit- not health. Aside from 100% natural oats and eggs- most “breakfast” foods are anything but healthy and would not be a good morning food or anytime of day food.

A break fast can be whatever you want it to be. It could be a filet, baked potato, and salad.

Of course, my recommendation is that whatever you choose to break your fast each day- you choose wisely. You either set your body up for success or you set your body up for failure. Your break- fast food of choose is the starting fuel for your engine. It either promotes health or harms it. It sets you up for a day of stability or fat loss or it sets you up for highs and lows- and weight/ fat gain.

What is non negotiable for me and really should be non negotiable for everyone each day is getting in your organic fruits and organic veggies each day to promote health and immunity… and the protein you need each day to meet your fitness and body goals.

Organic fruits and organic veggies are free of pesticides and things you would never want to ingest and full of antioxidants, nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and nutrition that fuels and fills the body properly. They regulate blood sugars to keep you satisfied.

I am in habit of my delicious and nutritious smoothie for my break-fast. My delicious recipe can be found https://atomic-temporary-181496879.wpcomstaging.com/2021/01/15/not-your-typical-smoothie/ … the only change is I no longer use powdered collagen. It caused tummy upset and bloat because only 25% of it is absorbed by the body. I have been using the only patented liquid collagen that I now rep which is 90% absorbed by the body. It tasted good so I just tablespoon twice a day versus put it in my shock.

When you choose to eat nutritious foods you do not sacrifice flavor- you gain flavor- and so much more like more energy, improving health, better skin, better hair, stronger immune system, plus.

Just about to blend this deliciousness into one healthy smoothie!
