
It it has taken me a bit longer to continue to share from “What the Health” on Netflix because it was released in 2017. So my goal was to bring you updated numbers.
Alex Pilson and I do not watch a ton of television. One thing that has truly amazed and impressed me is the quality of fact finding documentaries we have discovered as a result of shows we watch not having new seasons yet due to shut downs. Passionate individuals that are digging deep like reporters use to get to the truth.
The other fact that has truly amazed me and is a hugely eye opening to me and should be for us all is as much as poor health and fitness is an epidemic in this country- the stats are not updated as frequently as they should be. Interesting that we can get updated or supposedly updated and correct numbers on C on going which is not nearly as destructive or deadly as the poor health and fitness epidemic in this country.
What is the difference? Well, how could you look at it as any other way than healing the epidemic does not financially benefit government, insurance, pharmaceutical, and big corps. The epidemic actually does because poor health and fitness keeps us dependent on insurance and management drugs. And so does the pandemic. Keeping us scared pushes rushed products and provides a false sense of security which is proving anything but security and safe.
What is taught to us such as the food pyramid is not a result of preventative and proper nutrition- it is a result of sponsorship dollars. More into that later!
Here are some facts that are a little dated and based on the American Diabetes Society and the American Cancer Society- their words on their sites- have only gotten worse since last update.
These are facts from their sites, not my opinion. Doctor quotes are from various doctors interviewed in “What the Health”.
70% of deaths in the US are largely lifestyle related per data- cancer, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, arthritis, etc.
2/3 of adults are overweight or obese. With 42.4% of American being obese. It is likely close to 50% now based on the predictions per year based on trends.
19.3% of kids are obese. Most kids by age of 10 have clogging happening in their arteries thanks to the foods they are fed. This falls on us, the parents!
1 in 3 Medicare dollars are spent on treating people with diabetes. Notice the word- treating- only change in lifestyle can heal.
1.5 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed every year in United States.
88 million plus Americans age 18 and older are prediabetic.
“Diabetes takes 19 years off a life span- 19 years people!” -words of a doctor. That does not include the quality of day and quality of life it takes away. That you steal from yourself by choosing poor health and fitness habits.
Thanks to poor health and fitness habits plus the food pyramid served for school lunches we are teaching our kids 25% of children are diabetic.
1 in 10 total healthcare dollars are spent on treating people with diabetes.
95% of cancers are lifestyle induced- poor health and fitness habits (poor nutrition choices). 5% of cancers are genetic which means that 95% of cancer diagnosis’s are preventable and avoidable- 95%.
1 out of every 4 deaths is from cancer. Again, 95% lifestyle induced. Dietary choices have surpassed smoking when it comes to risk of cancer.
1 in 3 people will die from cardio vascular disease. Again, lifestyle induced. “That is equivalent of 4 jumbo jets crashing every single hour every single day every single day of the year.”
“Just about every disease is about what people are eating- PERIOD.” – words from a doctor.

”Government is in bed with anyone who gives them the most amount of money.”
Because I think a person doing their own research is even more powerful than reading that which I share. Search American Cancer Society Sponsors, American Diabetes Society Sponsors, and even search Susan G Komen Foundation Sponsors.
Hypocrisy at its finest and more evidence that medicine has been geared towards finding disease and managing disease versus preventing disease.
Since this documentary Susan G Komen Foundation has made some changes in sponsorship- which I greatly respect and so should every woman who has had breast cancer and they still accept dollars from some resources that if you partake in their product you increase your chances of breast cancer significantly.
I end on this note…. How does out government and all these companies they are in bed get away with it meaning why is it not considered criminal to make available and even promote in the food pyramid foods that are known to cause disease?
It’s simple! They passed a lot to protect their interest!!
It is called the “Consumption Act” which basically states the consumer should have common sense and do their own research to know what is good and what is bad for them basically stating that the consumer should know our food is bad for them; therefore, they cannot hold us liable for disease and repercussions as a result of eating what we make available.
