
Really enjoying this new series on Netflix “Explained”. Last night we watched “Sugar, Explained”.
Explained is very short, sweet, and to the point explanations including origination and history on all kinds of topics including tattoos. We have really enjoyed this series. “Rotten” was another documentary series that had a very informative episode on sugar.
We just love ignorant bliss because it allows us to stay blurry and in excuse as to why we are out of shape, why we eat what we eat. I have heard it all!
Now I have posted many many times on sugar and its addictive power. It is as addictive, if not more, than cocaine. The high is different, the withdrawals are different… and its addictive power is equal.
I have posted how the body does not know the difference between sugar and artificial sweeteners that are calorie free.
I have posted about fruits, although they have natural sugar, are healthy and are processed differently by the body. I eat 5 to 6 servings a day of organic fruit- so many health benefits in the fruits I choose.
I also have previously posted which is not spoken about in Sugar, Explained that many years ago the sugar industry actually hired researchers to study sugar to prove it was good for you- the researcher hired by the sugar companies actually concluded just how bad sugar is for the body- how bad sugar is for health. That study for which sugar industry paid for- silenced the study and conclusion- their right since they paid for it so that it would never be seen by the public. That silence was successful for many many years until a very clever reporter find it and released it as part of their investigation into the obesity epidemic in this country.
The history of sugar and sugar sweeteners are discussed in “Sugar, Explained” along with the history of sugars relationship with obesity and poor health.
75% of processed foods have sugar. 75%!!
Sugar, and sugary foods are not only horrible for health and fitness- they trigger hunger so not only will sugar increase body fat, body weight, and harm health. It causes one to eat more calories thus gaining even more body fat and body weight than just from eating sugar alone. Zero calorie sugar substitutes created no fat foods that were all the craze and what happened? America got even fatter- more unhealthy. We now sit at an epidemic of 70% of Americans being obese, in poor health and fitness. With a sugar industry, insurance industry, pharmaceutical industry, and even government (politicians) benefitting financially in big ways from our lack of personal responsibility and ownership for our own health and fitness.
Lets be clear! Too many of us our very blurred on truth. Blood pressure meds, cholesterol meds, etc manage and do not heal the body. They do not create good health and fitness.

Sugar is without a doubt poison. It creates so many negative effects in the body, in the skin, etc.
In fact, the difference between photos you see of me where I look very cut and well defined and those where I look more thin and maybe a little puffy skinny- is my change in sugar intake.
No one is perfect… and great health and fitness is not about perfection.
I promise you! You do not know how unhealthy and unfit you are until you make change to become healthy and fit. Once you do you will never sacrifice your health again.
