World records are not made by looking back at the competition. World records are made by looking forward and giving your very best- everything you have!
Alex Pilson and I have been watching Formula 1 on Netflix. It is really an incredible reality series! I love learning what goes on behind each race.
Mercedes has been leading by a significant amount and taking the number one podium spot race after race. It seems the only time Mercedes does not take the number one podium spot or a podium spot is when their number one driver Luis Hamilton breaks a rule and gets time added for penalty.
Formula 1 is a spectacular sport. Only 20 drivers in the entire world earn a spot.
Talk about competition!
The demand on the body and mind requires that drivers be in premium health and fitness.
It is a team sport! Everyone has an important role in creating a winning team. It starts with a great car- it ends with a great driver- and you have pit crews etc in between.
Every driver’s dream is to be number one on podium, second dream is to be on podium period, and minimum requirement is to earn points each race.
Alexis, why are you writing about Formula 1?
No, its not just because I love speed, a fit man in racing uniform (they still have nothing on Alex- just saying), the adrenaline of racing, and/ or the thrill of competition.
It is because there is so much lesson to take forward!
Those who set world records do not give reasons and excuses why they cannot do something- they believe they can.
Those who set world records do not blame others or look to blame others for why they cannot do something or are not doing something- they focus on themselves and being their very best.
You see, by all accounts, these teams are the best of the best and it is clear to see why Mercedes and those that come close second are superior to the rest.
Instead of spending their time protesting the cars of those beating them in hopes that they are somehow illegal and are cheating (even though sport is regulated), the winners spend their time building faster and better cars within the guidelines.
Their drivers don’t worry about those behind them… they hold nothing back and focus on their best.
How does this relate to Health and Fitness?
I thought you would never ask!
With 70% of Americans Obese and/ or Over Fat- in Poor Health and Fitness, I wonder what change in behavior and mindset has to take place for you to jump from the 70% in Poor Health and Fitness to the 30% in Good Health and Fitness and maybe even to the lesser percentage that is in Premium Health and Fitness.
What if we stopped seeking comfort of those in the 70%, stopped comparing ourselves to those in the 30%, and simply focused on ourselves with #selfcare #selflove ?
Is it possible that when we do we will build our best health and fitness to date and our best body yet?
I think so!
