Is Food an Emoji? It is a question I ask not only because it’s not uncommon that I hear “I rewarded myself with a cheat meal” or “I was feeling down and needed comfort food”; but because, I was raised to attach emotion to food.

🥰 equals comfortable and complacency all too often where two people lose what first attracted them before they got to know each other to begin with 🫣

🏋️ equals I earned this meal

Let’s see, have I missed any of the excuses and reasons we give ourselves to indulge in what can only be described as glutinous food eating behavior?

Glutinous to me is not only defined by over indulgence, which clearly 90% of adult Americans partake in based on stats between the clinically fat and obese stat of almost 75% plus the other 15% teetering the line of increasing the statistic, also unhealthy without care indulgence of poor ingredients that don’t nourish the body. Ultimately a show of a lack of #selflove and #selfcare as strong self love and self care does not self abuse.

Am I wrong?

Can anyone say that eating to poor health is not a form of self abuse?

Is it not eating disorder?

When we make excuses and reasons to justify behavior or hide truths, isn’t that the sign of addiction? Eating disorders start out as a mental illness and make no mistake they become an addiction, the sufferer becomes addicted to the feeling they gain.

The anorexic to the feeling of emptiness from not eating and the control they have over food.

The bulimec to the feeling of the endorphins they get from the binge followed by the feeling of emptiness they get from purging and then ultimately the control they think they have over food.

The obese to the feeling of the endorphins they get from the binge which they chase with the next binge.

Food becomes the addiction that is their escape from ______________________.

Truth

Facts

If we were getting our endorphins met from healthy sources that don’t negatively impact our health or waistlines, we wouldn’t be turning to food.

What releases an equal endorphin to food?

Sex

Am I saying that every single person that is obese and fat has a less than satisfying sex life? NO! And this should be evaluated.

What am I saying?

We need to evaluate our relationship with food and how we use food, are we using food as an emoji which ultimately has proven statistically a recipe for unhealthy.

Food is survival.

Food is thriving.

What if we looked at it that way, and sought out emoji’s elsewhere? How would the health in this country start to change for the better?

This does not mean our survival and thriving should not taste well, I believe we were given taste buds for a reason; however, our taste buds have been exploited for big food agenda that has then profited big insurance, big medicine, big pharma, and even government at the expense of the health of America and Americans.

When are we going to stop blaming and start taking personal responsibility and personal ownership of our own health starting with what we choose to consume and what we refuse to consume?
