Calories, don’t count them but make them count

I have written several blogs over the last few years on Nutrition including Strategic Eating, Why Diets Don’t Work, Eat Fat to Lose Fat, You have to eat to lose… just to name a few. These blogs are available at OneBadAssBITCH.com/blog.

My own #fitnessjourney and #healthjourney has been so rewarding and ever evolving for bettering my #health #fitness and #body.

My nutritional knowledge continues to depend to even depths I never imagined even existed. Not sure the depths discovered should exist and sadly they do because where there is opportunity for profits the best interest of health for “we the people” will be set aside for those profits. I cannot say truth and facts are not known for the health adverse effects of ingredients put into food products as they are, the findings of those studies suppressed with justification that amounts in modification are somehow okay. However, the health of America is proving that amounts in modification are absolutely not okay.

I have learned with my own body that the practice of all things in modification is truly a crock of shit to justify what we want to eat when we want to eat it.

It’s entitlement to something we love versus for something we should love more, that being a love for our body and a keeping watch over it like a security guard does over its post.

We are mindful when we walk the streets so we do not get hit.

We are mindful when we drive to drive defensively to not get into an accident.

BUT somehow we are irresponsible to be mindful over our body to not feed it inflammatory ingredients and to keeps its fat percentage and muscle percentage in check. Your chance is not over because you are still breathing, and reading this blog.

With that in mind I want to give you another way to look at calories.

OMG! Calories, how I want to cringe when people get consumed with how many calories versus the quality of calories they are consuming as not all calories are created equal. A 1200 calorie diet of processed low calorie low fat crap with ingredients that disrupt hormones, insulin levels, and your metabolic system does not compare to a 1200 calorie diet that includes organic meats that are properly fed and humanely raised to roam as they were intended, organic fruits and veggies, and healthy fats with zero negative disrupting ingredients.

One heals the body, one causes disease and illness.

I have leveled up my nutrition to where my health is great. My fitness is great. And my body stats are great.

Why am I not satisfied with great?

I am happy with great, and what if, optimal and elite is that much better like how much better great was over good, and good was over average?!?! Why would I not want to experience optimal, and then elite?

More importantly, and most important to me, if I truly want to help heal America, how do I need to further heal my relationship and mindset with food, and my entitlement to food to change more lives beginning with my own.

I have to think about food differently.

It’s not an emoji! Yes, that was a blog too. I asked myself what is food, what constitutes foods and is there really any food that is neutral for health. If a food is neutral for health meaning it is not beneficial and at the same time does not take health away thus making it just calories what is the point in eating it unless you just need empty calories which would mean you need to gain weight. But still, if even you need to gain weight it is better to eat nutrient dense extra calories than empty calories that serve no purpose really other than calories? I am not so sure the answer is yes. And it might be an individual answer to answer. That answer for me is no 99 out of 100 times.

I then have to put me aside and think about the greater population of obese adults and not obese children, over fat adults and over children who are insulin resistant because the answer for their healing is they should be ultimately saying no 100 times out of 100 times to heal faster just like taking every last pill of a prescription. Proper nutrition for their situation is the best prescription money can buy for the best and fastest results- PERIOD.

So I think of foods that perhaps don’t take away health, and at the same time don’t give health like a real pasta that is not bleached enriched crap or rice that are more filler foods and an unecessary carbohydrates when you have unprocessed carbohydrates in fruit that are nutrient dense foods.

I have already removed bad ingredient foods and only have some desserts lingering a few treats a week; however, even those have become cleaner versions and my body feels the difference.

My next level up is going to be making calories count for nutrients, not just filler foods taking up blank space for that blah feeling.
