“We the people” hold power! Too many of us are afraid to take a stand these days so we opt for compliance to not rock the boat or potentially offend another- we think nothing is our fight and we leave it for someone else- or we are taught that compliance- being obedient to authority or position of power such as a position of power like a man in office is the the right thing and that is you are no compliant you are disrespectful and wrong.
Authority has even communicated for certain groups to place peer pressure on others groups to be obedient and do their part.
Authority is even trying to make open discussion around certain topics a terrorist threat if you are not in agreement with their agenda.
How fucked up is that! And why are so many have such a hard time with seeing how fucked up it is?
We must not forget that every advancement in this country has been a result of a person and then a group of people or an entity such as a publication standing up against discrimination and judgement of any kind.
The right to choose!
Equal rights!
Equal pay!
Desegregation!
Freedom!
Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Flo Kennedy, Amelia Earhart, Angela Davis, and even Cleopatra to name a few.
The Revolution newspaper highly impacted the women’s rights movement.
I remember when news was actual reporting of facts- all the facts- because news reporters had passion for the truth, for reality, and for the good of “we the people” – a time well before huge corporations bought them. Now the news we receive is a carefully and professionally scripted narrative that reflects what the corporation behind that channel wants us to believe based on their agenda and the agenda of those who support them for which they also support aka “The Who’s” that have the money and “The Who’s” that need their money. Agenda trickled down through ranks of power that financially benefit from the narrative, from mandates, from manipulation of facts and even blatant lies.
