If only perfection existed!
Authenticity can!

Part 3 The Nutrition Side
All too often we think that eating healthy takes too much time, costs more, and takes away the fun of eating.
Thus creating reasons also known as excuses why we can’t!
⁃ I don’t have time to meal prep
⁃ I don’t have the budget for organic and fresh or frozen fruits and veggies, organic and pasture raised meats, wild caught seafood that isn’t injected with chemicals, etc
⁃ Eating healthy must be boring and have little taste.
⁃ I just want to live and eat what I want when I want.
⁃ I am not fat so why change my eating habits.
– I have too much going on right now and don’t want to add anything else to my plate.
The reasons and excuses we as humans can come up with as to why we don’t take action; or don’t want to take action; or think we can’t take action goes on and on… and we get an A+ for creativity
If we were to sum up the long list of excuses ultimately it boils down to 3 underlying reasons/ excuses…
1. Time
2. Taste
3. Money
Actually, being candid I think we could add to this list that we feel invincible, untouchable, and are willing to settle for what we think is just destiny that comes as a result of aging.
With that being said, I want to work backwards and start with the cost factor!
Fresh or frozen organic fruits and veggies, farm raised organic meats, and wild seafood that is fresh or fresh frozen without anything injected may appear to cost more at first look… meaning comparing sticker to sticker especially if you don’t learn how to price shop.
Truth is; you will ultimately spend less on groceries and your eating out budget!
That’s right! Eating within a healthy and fit lifestyle cost you less- not more!!
Here’s why!
Packaged foods, injected meats and seafoods, processed foods are created and made with all types of chemicals to create long shelf life. More importantly, they are loaded with added sugars and salt that are proven to create addictive behaviors towards the food product causing those who buy to buy more and eat more.
Then let’s talk about portion size. The portion size for these processed foods are so small when we actually read the label. Then account for how few people actually stick to eating their portion size if we are being honest- truly honest with ourselves. Very few which is why obesity is such a problem in this country!
Eating healthy is actually more satisfying because your body is getting what it needs to not only survive but to thrive. You get to actually eat a lot more without wreaking havoc on your waist line because the caloric intake is far less than packaged and processed. And you are giving yourself the gift of energy to create change in other areas to truly come into living a healthy and fit lifestyle.
To reiterate processed foods do not provide your body the proper and complete nutrients it needs and has ingredients that create addictive behavior to want more thus we eat more and consume too many empty calories. Healthy eating is seasoned to taste great with health benefitting heart and blood smart spices that don’t include salt and sugar.
This not only cost us more on our grocery bill. We spend more when we eat out because we have expanded our appetites to want and need more. Lastly, and this is a big one! We will spend more money at the doctors and on medicines to feel better and to attempt to correct the damage we have caused! Not to mention copays and insurance deductibles.
That just covers some of the actual monetary cost benefits/ savings of eating well!
Proper nutrition is the best immune system builder there is. How we choose to eat can prevent, reverse, and manage incurable ailments. Healthy taste great and we always feel satisfied because our bodies are getting the nutrients they need.
How we choose to eat can either give energy or rob us of our energy.
We can either spend time enjoying the things we love to do with those we want to do them with because we took premium care of our health…
Or we can spend our time at doctors finding solutions to problems that could have been prevented and living on meds to control blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, etc and hindering what we can and cannot do because we are literally walking the line of a heart attack, stroke, and more!
Time is money!
Health is the ultimate wealth!
How we look doesn’t determine our level of health. Youth can certainly created an image of health that doesn’t exist.
For those who think their bad eating habits are not impacting their lives because they are not fat.
How can you really answer the question until you experience how you feel with healthy eating habits.
Too many think they are getting away with eating however and whatever until… they get a big wake up call.
Don’t take your health or perception of health for granted. Slower metabolisms, losing our energy, having aches and pains, and expanding waistlines is not part of aging- it is simply the byproduct of unhealthy eating habits and not enough bone strengthening exercise.
It is never too late to create and reset for not only a better quality of life… perhaps the best quality you have ever experienced. And your best health and physique ever!
Does it require some change? Yes!
Guess what else requires change?! Recovering from a heart attack, stroke, open heart surgery, living on medications, developing diabetes, etc.
If it were easy, everyone would look like fitness models and hospitals would be close to out of business… insurance companies would make a lot less money!
Change is hard! And reality is, you will be making a change sooner or later by choice or by force of medical necessity.
Why wait?
Start living, truly living now by putting you and your health and fitness first! Enjoy life and everything in it to its fullest.
Watch what doing so does for you and your life and then those in your life!
Now that is priceless!
It’s not about perfection or deprivation! It’s about choice and making healthy choices 85% to 90% of your week and creating a different mindset around food so the 10% to 15% is never a feeling a guilt.
Food is fuel. Just like you put the proper oil and gas in your car… doesn’t your body deserve the same if not better care and love than your car?
How is that for food for thought?
