In Search of Balance

In Search of Balance

A few weeks ago I shared the documentary “Seaspiracy” on Netflix. Yesterday, Alex and I watched “In Search of Balance” on Amazon.

It’s interesting because a few months back we watched a documentary on energy.

Three different documentaries; one on living energy, another on the importance of our oceans, sea, and gulfs to human survival, and the last on our food chain, that all show how important nature is and how important keeping nature preserved is to not only our well being- ultimately our survival.

In Search of Balance is about our food chain and how the changes made to our food has harmed us. It is a must watch documentary!

Regardless of your belief on who created earth and everything living on earth, there is one fact that cannot be argued. Our ecosystem when undisturbed works perfectly as it should and all living things work together in sync.

Everything undisturbed happens for a reason.

Key word being undisturbed!

Like our ecosystem, most humans, are born perfect and bodies that are the most fine tuned vehicle we will ever own. We remain perfect until disturbed.

The sad truth is that most humans become disturbed not by choice. For instance, it is a parent who first introduces a Happy Meal to a child, to a child asking for a Happy Meal.

Let’s be honest, we have taken our ecosystem for granted and more than 70% of us have taken our personal health for granted.

I get it! I do!! I too wanted to believe we could trust our governments to do what is best for their citizens and the earth… and what I have realized, is that government is a business. Politicians are leaders that are voted in by the people. However, they need big money backing to run their campaigns to gain popularity among the people. Big money influences, buys positions, and buys agendas.

Positions and agendas bought have made us unhealthy, unfit, and ill.

We have all been too trusting and it is costing us dearly! It’s time that we stop giving away our personal responsibility for our own health, for the health of our ecosystem. Our ecosystem depends on us taking great care and protecting it, and we depend on our ecosystem for survival.

Don’t think this will be a problem in your lifetime? Maybe not and reality is, it is already a problem in your lifetime! It will be an even bigger problem in your children’s lifetime, and even bigger problem in your grandchild’s lifetime.

We are in midst of a true epidemic!

I have written so many blogs regarding the facts about nutrition and the financial gain of poor health and fitness. All blogs can be found at http://www.OneBadAssBITCH.com/blog

Why is this such an important topic?

• More than 70% of Americans are fat and/ or obese.

• 117 million or half of all American adults suffer one or more chronic diseases (CDC)

• 7 out of 10 causes of death in the U.S. are chronic diseases. Heart disease and cancer together account for account for 98% of all deaths.

• Over 80% of all healthcare spending in the U.S. goes towards managing chronic conditions, over 2 trillion dollars annually (CDC)

• 106,000 Americans dies each year from side effects of prescriptions drugs. Prescription drugs prescribed to help manage chronic disease.

Chronic disease includes heart disease, diabetes, asthma, learning disability, mental illness, and cancer.

Chronic disease has a direct relationship to poor nutrition and fitness.

Research shows that not only are nutritional choices responsible for onset of most chronic disease, nutritional choices have an impact on bodies ability to heal such disease and/ or reduce/ manage symptoms.

Food has the ability to heal and it has the ability to kill.

We own our power to choose!

We have everything available to us- too much! We have healthy and fit choices and we have choices that kill.

In fact, we have so much more control than we want to believe! We have the ability save our planet and return it back to a thriving ecosystem.

We certainly have the ability to start by fucking saving ourselves by getting healthy and fit. By saving our own lives, our food choices start to save our ecosystem.

If we swing the pendulum to 70% of Americans are truly healthy and fit I guarantee our eco system will be improved by 70%.

What we do not control is how quickly our poor health and fitness kills us. Will we go suddenly with a massive heart attack or slowly with a daily reduction in quality of life or will we will handicapped by stroke. It really does not matter because here is what I know; when you are in poor health and fitness you are not living the quality of life intended. You will not realize just how bad you feel until you actually feel good.

The question is, are you ready to take action? Ready to put my challenge to the test?

Health is the ultimate wealth!
