OBAB Top 10 Standards


Standard One

OBAB does not accept clients who cannot commit to a minimum of 3 sessions per week.

Why is this a standard?

A minimum of three days a week is necessary to achieve results and that requires nutrition being strictly followed. More importantly, we can and are able work each muscle group in three days a week; therefore, we are protecting our clients safely by creating balanced bodies- the workouts just look a little different than 4 to 6 days.

OBAB has this standard in place because an unbalanced body results in weaknesses increasing risk of injury during workouts and in normal day activities.


Standard Two

Positive Attitude

Why is this important?

Whether we think we can or we think we cannot- we are right! I believe in you! I know you can achieve a truly healthy and fit you/ lifestyle. Lean on my belief in you until you believe in yourself!


Standard Three

Proper form is imperative!

Why?

  • It promotes faster results!
  • It reduces risk of injury!
  • It builds better bodies!
  • And it builds stronger cores!

We will be consistently increasing the amount of weight we are working with once we have mastered form and can safely increase without increasing risk of injury.

Therefore, I need commitment to show up to each session with your head in the game, ears and eyes on attention to detail of demonstration and descriptions I provide, and focus on mind muscle connection.


Standard Four

Open communication

I will be in consistent communication with you throughout each workout on what you should be feeling and asking you what you are feeling to ensure we are not creating stress where we do not want it and we are working the muscle intended.

Each body is different and I tweak with each person based on communication to ensure the best results. It takes a week or two for me to learn your bodies dynamics as we all born with different skeletal frames and genetics. Training is not one size fits all… each body type requires slight tweaks to maximize that individuals results!

And I communicate a lot because I want you to know what is normal and what is not normal so that your mind is at ease and you feel confident your hard work will pay off.

You remaining injury free is priority one and it requires communication!


Standard Five

Be prepared to sweat!

Gym time is not beauty competition time! Although, I find clients who show up ready to work hard and sweat their asses off the most beautiful and sexiest people in the gym.

This is not for Instagram show! If you want Instagram show, then be dedicated to show up so that the photos you post on Instragram or social media are you are your very best. By Instagram I mean any form of social media.

Want to record your workouts once you have mastered form-no problem!
Understanding the following guidelines:

  1. My responsibility it to ensuring you maintain your form and challenge your muscles- not take photos or video.
  2. Bring your tripod and set up to record yourself. That is how I record my own sessions.
  3. Hire a photographer/ videographer for your sessions.
  4. You tag me in each post or story utilizing video or photos from our sessions.

I reserve my time for BadAss individuals committed to improving their overall health and fitness, not attention seekers who are only interested in putting out perception that they give it all they have each workout.

I am not a match for people who are not in it for the right reasons!


Standard Six

Listening- part of having a strong foundation of communication!

This boils down to trusting your trainer! I will never ask you to do something that does not support your goal!

You are not going to like every exercise equally! You are going to like some more than others- that is normal! There are some exercises I hate and I love what they do for my body. You will too!

When you hired me, you hired me to help you reach your health and fitness goals!

We will start where your current health and fitness- strength permits us to and as we master form, we will progressively increase the amount of weight we lift and incorporate new exercises to challenge the body further.

I am lovingly candid! We can have excuses or results… and we cannot have both.

If you want to create your own routines based on only the exercises you like I am not the trainer for you! I know how to build your best body and I know how you need to fuel to build your best body. If you do not want to listen and you want to tell me what exercises you will and will not do without underlying health issues preventing such exercises you are not truly committed to building your best body or challenging your body. I respect you and because I respect you, I am communicating upfront I am not the trainer for you. I can give you names and numbers of trainers that have no standards other than filling time slots to earn a dollar or meet quota they have at the gym they work for.

My passion is seeing the results my clients achieve. I succeed when my clients succeed. True Health and Fitness is the ultimate wealth. What I do is life changing for people. The fact that I can change people’s lives for the better is life changing for me! If I was independently wealthy I would train for free as money is not my motivating factor! You and your goals are! Unfortunately, making money is a necessity in this world for us to buy our nutrition to fuel our bodies, fitness equipment or membership needed to remain strong and fit, and a roof over our heads to sleep so we can recover and reduce stress. My time is valuable and I save it for those who really desire and have decided to better themselves… and are committed to do so!


Standard Seven

24 hour cancellation policy to reschedule session. There are some common sense exceptions.

I value your time and expect mutual respect.


Standard Eight

Cussing Allowed- Negative Complaint Not Allowed

Understand I am authentically me. My vocabulary includes some swearing… I stay authentic to who I am and work with clients that appreciate who I am and would not want me to be anything other.

That does not mean that I am not respectful of people!

I am just being real! If you are offended by the use of certain words please let me know so I can be respectful of you in your presence. I cannot guarantee it won’t slip out every now and then… I do promise to do my best!

Now that I have laid my truth on the table. Let me be clean, this standard is less about me and more about you!

I am going to challenge you like you have never been challenged. You are going to work your ass or should I say fat off! Together, we are going to build your body into a fat burning machine!

You will achieve the sweet spot of muscle percentage to fat percentage that affords you more flexibility.

You will be pushed to your limits and you will be surprised what you are capable of! Sometimes we work based on rep count and number of sets and sometimes we will work based on how many you can do with proper form. I am always observing to keep you tracking towards your goal and never plateauing!

When we are pushed and giving it everything we have a certain adrenaline comes over us and you may be surprised what words you yelp. Study shows that yelping, cussing, grunting, screaming, moaning, or whatever you exert verbally- that will probably happen without thought and simply as a result of your mind fighting forward so you don’t quit when you have more in you- actually helps in pushing through and finishing more reps!


Standard Nine

Your weight, measurements, goals, before and after photos, etc are 100% confidential until which time you choose, should you ever choose, to share and you grant written permission for OBAB to do so. You will never be pressured to do so! Each person’s journey is their own. Some want others to see their before and afters, others just their afters, and some neither.

All conversations between client and coach meaning client to coach and coach to client shall also remain confidential.


Standard Ten

Have fun! I will help you stay focussed on your goal and the progress being made. And we are going to have a lot of fun along the way.

There is no judgement, only feedback, motivation, and support!
